Time Well Spent

Hypnosis is sometimes thought of as a state of Focused Awareness, much like mindfulness meditation. Although patients often feel extremely relaxed, it is an addictive state to be in, just as if one was in a state of absolutely concentration in a task such as rock climbing, singing, or surfing.

One of the features of Hypnosis is a sense of distortion of time. It may seem like a very long time or a very short time. Often the Hypnotherapist can aid the patient into thinking that it has been a very long time and a deep and restful sleep / rest.

Should we all spend more time in mindfulness meditation? The answer is probably yes with more and more research showing how this can be beneficial to mood, relationships, and resilience. Should we all spend more time in Hypnosis is the next question… There is insufficient research to conclude this.
